Mulhall Integration Programme - At a glance
ctach-sunset.jpgIn brief   What is Retained Reflex Syndrome?
Before birth, and in the first few months of life, we develop foetal and primitive reflexes – involuntary responses to specific stimulii, such as a baby’s grasp when you touch its palm. These reflexes are survival instincts to get through the birth and vulnerable early months. They naturally fade in the course of normal development, and more sophisticated (postural, or adult) reflexes and actions take over. However, many factors such as a stressful pregnancy or birth can disrupt development and early reflexes can get stuck. RRS is when a cluster of reflexes are retained, which hinders the next stage of development (‘neuro-developmental delay’) and locks the child into immature patterns of behaviour and response. More on RRS

In brief   What is the Mulhall Integration Programme?
Tailor-made to each individual’s specific needs, MIP is designed to clear the relevant  retained reflexes, to allow normal development of the postural (adult) reflexes and neural pathways of the higher brain, and full integration of the left and right sides of the brain.  MIP consists of:
•    Initial Consultation (1/2 hour) and questionnaire to assess case
•    Diagnostic Assessment (2 hours) of over 65 reflexes, through simple exercises and tests
•    Report Reading (1 1/2 hours), to discuss findings and treatment plan
•    Home treatment (8-12 months), involving a combination of
o Neu-Stim – repeated stroking of specific nerve-endings with the MIP neural stimulator or the end of a paintbrush (5-10 minutes twice daily)
o Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) - tapping nerve-endings
   o SoundSense neuro-acoustic retraining programme
•    Progress Reviews at regular intervals to check on progress and amend treatment accordingly
