MIP step by step

Initial Consultation (1/2 hour)

We will ask you to complete a questionnaire (more detailed than the one on this website) in advance to help you identify the symptoms and difficulties you or your child may be experiencing, as well as problems to be overcome. We will also ask you or your child to do a few simple physical tests to check that the treatment is right for the difficulties involved. To receive treatment, you need to be age 5 or over. If we feel the treatment is unlikely to be a success we will tell you. If you wish to go ahead, we make an appointment for a full Diagnostic Assessment.

what-is-rrs.jpgDiagnostic Assessment (2 hours)

During the Diagnostic Assessment we test over 65 reflexes in the body. There is no IQ or academic testing involved, just simple physical tests or games, a hearing test, a sample of writing and some drawing. The aim is to comprehensively test:

Balance and coordination

Eye movement

Short-term memory

Sequencing skills

Spatial awareness

Left/right dominance

Visual motor integration

Report Reading & Home Programme (1 1/2 hours)

The report is based on evidence collected at the Diagnostic Assessment. We explain and discuss the Assessment results in full with the adult or parents. Treatment begins immediately after the Report Reading. Detailed diagrams guide the parents or adult through each specific ‘brushing’ routine. Brushing is carried out at home morning and evening by parents or partners and will normally take 5-10 minutes per session.

Progress Reviews (1/2 hour)

Follow-up visits take place every 4-6 weeks to check on progress and change the ‘brushing’ routine or fine-tune the treatment accordingly. In the final stage, two checks are carried out at 2 and 4 month intervals to ensure there is no regression. The benefits remain for life. NB An Initial Consultation, Diagnostic Assessment and Report Reading can be arranged in the same day for those living outside London and the south-east. Treatment normally starts within 7-10 days of an Assessment, or earlier if possible.

Neu-Stim

Neu-Stim is a uniquely powerful treatment. It has an exceptionally positive effect on children, teens and adults. In terms of correcting developmental delay or learning difficulties it is at the cutting edge, because of its ability to deal with retained foetal reflexes and not just primitive reflexes. Using a special MIP neural stimulator or the end of a paintbrush (depending on which reflexes we are targeting), a parent or partner performs a set of gentle stroking movements on the client’s back or other parts of the body, for approximately 5-10 minutes each morning and evening. This stimulates specific nerve endings, which in turn activates the early reflexes, allowing them to integrate and inhibit, kick-starting the normal developmental process once more.

Neu-Stim even has the power to treat conditions such as eczema, asthma and food intolerances, as well as sinus and ear problems – issues that cannot be remedied by exercise-based programmes. Once we reach the point where the early reflexes have inhibited, children and adults are able to perform to the best of their ability, at their natural level of intelligence. In terms of future development, they will continue to improve and thrive.
